Seeking Kali

Welcome to Seeking Kali. Born of a discussion of myth and archetype, the manifestations of Kali are many. She is mother, she is goddess in all her glory, she devours time as a symbol of dissolution and destruction. Kali destroys ignorance and restores order. This year the Artist Collective Seeking Kali is sponsoring an artist call for work in all media concerning the myth of MEDUSA.

Late presentation, late diagnosis (Amendment)

Posted by Rob White on May 1, 2012

This art work is an amended piece for the British Medical Journal (BMJ), I was asked to remove the figures from the previous piece and simply present the t-shirts hanging on a washing line. This sometimes happens with commercial illustration briefs, you think you’ve come up with a reasonable image to accompany a piece of copy, then someone in the editorial team notices something in the image, something which myself and others had overlooked. It was felt that the figures were slightly offensive to people suffering with cancer, so we decided to remove them.
